How I Maintain My Social Life and Sobriety

If you are just starting out on your sober journey, you should know that the more you do something, the better you will be at it, including sobriety. There are a lot of things that happen naturally when you quit drinking alcohol. You feel better (at least you SHOULD) because you’re not hungover and laying at death’s door every other morning. In a way, it felt like growing up—which may sound funny considering I was 53 at the time. But I felt a need to say goodbye to all the negative influences in my life during this time.

Even if you never overdose, drug and alcohol addiction can cause serious health problems that reduce both the quality and length of your life. In addition to living a better, more fulfilling life, sobriety can also extend your years due to increased health and wellness.
